TS4- Drifter II 003.4: RIP Cowplant

House 003 Chapter 5

Ivy aged to YA so I found her a hubby and played with genetics to give them a son.

Tesla woke up from a nightmare pretty much as soon as I started playing.

She was more hungry than she was tired so Fern fed her some applesauce.  The problem was she was still sad about the nightmare and kept crying instead of eating!

Fern ran out to feed the cowplant too and was a bit shocked at how hungry it was!

As usual she wrangled some family that were in the neighborhood to help with the garden.  Tesla ran out to see what all the fuss was about then ran back in the house to play.

Damion helped Tesla with her blocks.

Bath time!

Fern gets Damion all flirty.

Then sends him out to eat the cowplant’s cake!  Essence of flirtation achieved.

I figured we’d better lock him up while Damion has the drained moodlet.

Wow Tesla!  What’re you doing to that bookshelf?!

I bought a woodworking table.  It didn’t even last a full day before I got annoyed and sold it.  Every time that Fern left it to take care of Tesla, Damion would run over and start crafting something!  Why is that thing suddenly so irresistible to sims?

Instead I bought a computer so she can get upgrade parts and spent a fortune on upgrading everything.

Damion’s a good dad.  He pays a lot of attention to Tesla and plays with her.

This has only worked once so far.  I dragged the fish from the fridge onto the floor next to her and she took one and ate it.  Every other time her hunger was low enough that she was too busy asking everyone for food to find the food I put out.

Awe, bear hugs!

Watching mommy upgrade stuff.  Why does water go on the floor when they upgrade anyway?

This really needs fixed!  She has level 3 potty skill so she doesn’t really need him to take her to the potty anymore. Every time he gets the “check toddler” thing she says she needs to potty!  Grr!

Tesla woke him up after a nightmare… Fern was upgrading something or other.

Argh no!  I have no idea what his issue was.  Tesla woke up super hungry, so hungry I was afraid she’d get taken away so I had Fern quickly put her in the highchair to eat.  Damion walked over and took her out and set her on the floor. Fern put her back in and he walked over and took her out again!  He’d just take her out set her down and walk away! I couldn’t have Fern do anything until after she’d finished eating.  She stood guard to make sure he left her alone. Meanwhile I was yelling and cursing at the screen.  Sheesh!

Finally, after upgrading everything in 2 bathrooms and the kitchen!

All that’s left for this house is 2 more emotional essences.  We’re waiting on this little guy to grow up for that.

  1. That was a scary moment when the toddler was so hungry. I had that too in my game, but the toddler was angry and kept throwing the food at the floor! Eventually the kid ate the applesauce lol
    Oh no, your cowplant!

    1. My biggest mistake with the hungry incident was trying to put her in the highchair in the first place instead of having Fern give her food directly. I was so panicked I didn’t think of it!

  2. Ivy has such a cute family 🙂 The woodworking table is such a pain with the sims! I don’t know why they’re so addicted to it. My sims do the same with the hungry toddler. It’s annoying. Congrats on finishing the handiness skill and the aspiration! Sorry about the cow plant 😦

  3. That’s why I don’t do the high chair anymore, yeah it’s more convenient but I can’t stand that part. Oh no poor cowplant!! Good thing you had another one to plant. Congrats on the aspiration and the handiness skill as well. Ivy’s family is super cute by the way. 🙂

    1. The only time I’ve found the high chair handy is if there’s no food in the fridge to drag out.
I’m glad I saved a just in case cowberry because I sold all the others!

  4. Oooh I don’t think I knew that toddlers didn’t have to be in the high chair to eat. I haven’t had any problems though if even the spouse will put the kid in the high chair and feed the toddler. Oooh no cow plant!! I love the idea of the cow plant skeleton near the new baby… haha.

      1. HAHA – I have only had Sims take the child out of the high chair if they are done and sorta whining to be let out. Never when the child is actually hungry. Very interesting and I like your solution.

  5. Congrats on finishing the aspiration. That is a tough one. So far I haven’t had too much trouble feeding the toddlers. The only one I played with seems to grab the food right off the counter if I leave it there.

    1. I’ve tried leaving it out and I’ve only had them take it a few times. Usually they end up asking for food instead. What trait did yours have?

  6. I think there is a bug with the wood working table. I can’t have it in my house either and leaving a half-finished sculpture does nothing! I love the fact that toddlers have good days and bad days, just like real toddlers. I really liked this chapter – some great screen shots and the pacing was perfect 🙂

  7. Oh, the kidnapping from high chair and the constant potty training thing drove me up the walls – found a mod that helps make it less annoying. Don’t know if you already have it and just dont use it because it’s not allowed in the challenge. I kind of see it as a bug – because of how it’s like an ubreakable cycle that ruins game play for me. The mod is by coolspear and is called No Autonomous Check Toddler in case you want to check it out. ( http://simsasylum.com/tfm/index.php?/topic/12700-no-autonomous-check-toddler/ )
